Industrial Process Applications
Once the fumigation process is complete, the contaminated air needs to be scrubbed or cleaned before being released to the atmosphere. A fumigation control solution may include an activated carbon filtering system to remove the fumigant from the exhausted air. Activated carbon is an effective medium to clean the air and separating trace elements from air prior to release back into the environment.
TIGG manufactures and fabricates a wide variety of activated carbon systems and filters to work in industrial fumigation applications of almost any size. Our experience in industrial fumigation, industrial process, remediation, and activated carbon processes makes our company a trusted and quality resource for handling your fumigation needs.
Industrial Fumigation I Case Study
Kenny Farms- Methyl Bromide RecaptureKenny Farms, a betel and curry leaf grower on Oahu, needed to meet air and emission standards in order to fumigate and export their crops to mainland United States. Current policy requires that produce being imported into certain areas in the United States be fumigated before leaving the shipping port of the exporter's location. The most common chemical used in fumigation is methyl bromide. TIGG Corporation was able to provide Kenny Farms with an MB125 system that is designed to reduce methyl bromide emissions by 80%, and reduce the concentration of methyl bromide in the emissions to under 500 ppm. This current system being utilized by Kenny Farms has exceeded the requirements and has helped Kenny Farms to fumigate and export their produce to the United States mainland successfully.
